Outer door seals

I'm getting ready to glue the outer door seals on ol' 1343 and want to make 
sure I get them on right.  The main question is does the flat side go against 
the outer lip of the door (ie. up if the door is open) or against the body of 
the door (ie. toward the middle of the door).
