This is a change they made for '75. The curved channel is a guide for the
window. It mounts vertically at the front of the window. The end with the
slot bolts to a plate with a horizontal slot that sticks up from the bottom
of the door frame. The top end has the mounting tab and is held to the door
frame by 2 screws. When the channel is in place, it slants backward about
30 degrees and the top mounting tab is horizontal. You should also have a
3 to 4 in. flat bar with a roller on one end. This bar slides into the front
of the 24 in. channel that is glued to the bottom of the window. The roller
on this bar goes into the vertical channel. The bar is held in place by a 1/4
in bolt that goes through a 1-1/2 in. flat piece of metal (bent down on 2
sides) . One problem is that the flat metal piece is rather thin and bends.
Terry T. recommends replacing it with 1/8 in. thick steel. Sliding the bar
in the horizontal channel adjusts the front/back position of the window.
