I answered my own question about the voltage regulator. A Wells VR749 is an electronic regulator that bolts right in to a '75 Bricklin. Same connectors and same bolt holes. Although the base is the same size, it is shorter than the mechanical regulator and is chrome rather than blue. It won't win any points for originality at a show, but seems to work well.
