alternator problems....part 2

i hooked up the alternator ( thanks for all the help guys ) now its not 
working..... to be on the safe side i took it to get tested ( just to make 
sure ) and it worked fine. I reinstalled it, made sure it was hooked up 
correctly and still nothing... any ideas as to what the problem may be? the 
alternator is brand new ( dont have the old one to compare it to ) and the 
new one does not produce any power....
