I went to look at the 74 (VIN #572 I think) this weekend and I was
very impressed. I would like to consult to group for an expert opinion as
to whether I should buy it or keep looking...here is the low-down:

Original Owners. they bought the car in Pennsylvania and drove it back in
74. They upgraded to air doors, and had some front end work done recently.
The acrylic is without paint, and in excellent condition. That impressed me
the most. The color is great! It has always been garage kept. The black
rear bumper is as black and smooth as if it were factory new. The doors
line up at the roof almost perfectly except for a raising panel on the left
door - which looks like it could be glued of something. It has the AMC
engine, which sounds great. The owner says there is a transmission leak,
and the AC hoses need to be re-done.
The headlights look a bit aloof. the left one sticks, and the other one is
a bit strange. They are controlled by the air compressor I am sure. The
right door doesn't open all the way, which I am under the impression that it
could be fixed relatively easily.

The carpet is shot. BUT - the seats are mint. I couldn't believe it - but
the seats and the console were near perfect. There were no stress cracks on
the roof surrounding the door joint which surprised me. Most of the cracks
were near the seams of the windows. I have tons of pictures, the url is
below.

Asking price is 12,000. The car has 54,000 miles, and everything appears to
be stock (with the addition of a tape deck- original radio is still around
though).

So what's the groups opinion?
