Basically,what I did,and this includes the delamineted doors,was go to my
local Home Depot
and bought their best construction adhesive,and big C clamps,and a 2x4,then I
cleaned out the old stuff from the seams,with a die grinder,and then applied
masking tape on both sides
of the seams(to get a nice even fill,then using a calk gun,got as much as I
could under the panel,after that I put a bead on the surface area,put the C
clamps on both sides of the seams
with a piece of that 2x4 to put on pressure,then let it dry for 24 hrs.Pulled
off the c clamps and masking tape,and so far it has been about 6 years and the
doors and roof seams are
still holding down without any signs of delamination.Also the adhesive came in
tubes so as to use a calk gun.Like I said my door skins were ready to drop off
when I got my bricklin,It took me over two months doing this process on every
panel on the car that had become delaminated,but it was time well
spent,because it was another Bricklin saved from becoming
a parts car,or worse junked.Also this is the same car that was Gel-coated and
that is still holding up real good.
