One other area where rusting had occured on my vehicle is the sheet metal
that makes up the front dash area. There is a drain hole on both left and
right sides with a tube to collect and drain water from the windshield area.
If the tubes become stopped up with debris (as from tree leaves) then water
pools in the metal area at the corners of the windshield. This can totally
rust out this area. I recommend using POR15 on all metal areas in the car
and periodically verifying that the drain tubes are free and clear.

Why did the guys at the factory fail to apply some sort of rust protection?
I know Bricklin was a low budget company, but not that low budget!
Or was it that there was no such thing as rust prevention in 1975?
The least they could have done is painted the metal parts.....

speaking of rust, VIN 1758 has a rusted out metal piece on the passenger
side
underneath the dashboard..what is it and what was its purpose? is it
important?
