Any tricks to running new door solenoid wire?

I need to run that thick orange high draw darn door solenoid wire on 
2755.  Are there some tricks that I should know about threading it out, 
down and through the maze?  Also, any "routine" maintenance that I 
should do while I'm in the area? TIA, Kim.
