If you are re-doing the Bricklin's exhaust system and care to replace
the transverse single muffler, the space liberated could, I suspect,
accommodate a skinny donut spare. This is the option I am looking into
during the rebuild of #678. I'd make up a aluminum or steel box so the
tire could be removed at the back of the hatch.
As far as the exhaust goes, the options include seperate free flow
resonators with a crossover near the front or side pipes as at least one
Bricklin owner has tried.
High flow catalytic converters are also a possiblity to meet stricter
air quality standards but there are space and heat concerns to consider
with them given the fiberglass floor pan.
