Springs having the same bar thickness, resting length, number of coils and diameter probably have the same rate, assuming the same material and material processing ( i.e. type of steel and heat treating). The most accurate ways to measure rate are 1) take a sample spring to a manufacturer who will have the test equipment to measure the rate or 2) find a friend at a testing lab or university that has access to a compression testing machine.
