Performance Lab Engineer - Alameda, CA
We are looking for someone to work in the Performance Lab. The ideal
candidate should have significant Windows internals experience and able
to independently research complex performance issues. C++ experience
adequate to read, understand, profile, and debug Perforce components is
required. Experience writing complex scripts in multiple languages is
also required.
The Performance Lab Engineer ensures that Perforce Software components
have superior performance on a variety of platforms. The Performance Lab
Engineer also helps acquire and maintain Performance Lab hardware.
Responsibilities:
* Develop and document benchmarking scripts and utilities that
demonstrate performance characteristics of Perforce Software
components
* Suggest changes to Perforce Software components that enhance
performance
* Suggest OS parameters and patches that enhance performance of
Perforce Software components
* Recommend hardware needed for Performance Lab activities
* Work with hardware vendors to acquire "loaner" hardware for the
Performance Lab
* Provide assistance as needed to other teams (Technical Support,
QA, Development, and Marketing)
* Interact with customers and act as a company representative at
technical forums and on customer visits
Required Qualifications:
* BS/MS in Computer Science or related field
* 7+ years industry-level experience
* 3+ years experience pursuing performance of software products
* Experience with at least one SCM system, preferably Perforce
* Read, understand, profile, and debug C++ applications
* Internals experience with multiple operating systems, including
Windows and Unix
* Write complex scripts in multiple languages
* Work independently while contributing to team goals
* Excellent interpersonal and communications skills (oral and written)
* Adapt to changing work requirements
