As your friend is a newbie, points do not matter, so wherever he runs
basically mark it as a Fun Run. As such he can run whichever rungroup works
well. Last Sunday not only the afternoon but also the morning groups were
combined 4 into 2! As Carl said, you could have him drive your car, but it's
not tough to set up one of you in line 1 and one at the end of line 2. He
should also get a work assignment that allows him to be paired with
experienced workers, for safety's sake.
Certainly it's great for your friend to have a good time on the first visit.
He should kiss off being "competitive" and just look for fun and personal
improvement - and hopefully will get addicted! :-D
