Ah, apparently I'm blind, thanks all.
Anybody want to comment on how strictly this '5 per event' rule has been
enforced? Is that number merely a CYA just in case things get outta
hand in the future or is registration actually keeping track?

allowed to enter our events when accompanied by a

Carl,
From the SFR SCCA website:
"Visitor, Novice-buddy programs.
2005 Jan 22
Changes to programs for new people.
1. A member may accompany a non-member to an event; the
non-member guest drives and works. Bring a friend.
Guests will be limited to 5 total per event on a
first-come-first-served basis. Only one guest per member. Also a guest
may use this program only once after which they will need a membership
to drive. "
Drive Safely,
