Yes, but remember that the Viper was significantly more powerful than other
cars in SS, not to mention the more important point of significant additional
expense and much much lower availability. It was not initially classed in SS.
Its inclusion in the class was a summer SEB thing (Stock Committee was NOT
included in the decision) that happened too late to pull it back before
Nationals.
The Elise is a bonafide available sports car that does not cost as much as
the standard bearer of the class. I would be very (and unpleasantly) surprised
if the SEB declassified the car from the Stock category.
