The whole "sports car based" thing is screwed up, if you ask me. A CRX is
based on a Civic platform, but excluded because it has 2 seats. An Audi TT is
accepted becasue it is A3 based and has "4 seats." A Supra is allowed in
Street Mod, but a 300 ZX isn't. I can make a very strong case for the G35
Coupe
being like the case of the Audi TT, except with more rear seat room. The fact
that it is a bad B/Stock car doesn't matter to me. Should probably be an
F/Stock car... The 350Z is sort of like the CRX, a true 2 seat variant of a 4
seat platform. The RX-8 has no Sedan counterpart, is obviously a Sports Car
despite number of seats and doors. In any case, it's a very thin line. The
SEB
needs to make the STAC (and SMAC) come up with lists of eligible cars for their
respective classes. STAC doesn't want to do it. Yes, it's a big job, but
that's why they get paid the big bucks... (IMHO, of course...)
