I would like to thank Mathew for really hanging in there all day and making
the day a success. As I told him before the event, there are so many folks
who just help you get it done that all you have to do is get the first car
out and the day is over (more on that later) Thanks to all the set up crew
for being able to interpret the course design and adjust, and thanks to the
breakdown crew also. There were "scouts honor" fun runs until only those
Subaru things were still up for it. Everyone else was out of gas and tires.
Mathew's girlfriend was handing out funrun timing slips, which was kool, and
my wife Carolyn was compelled to hang out at the gate even after we were
done. If we missed anyone on the list I apologize. As any one near me
Saturday knows from my bitching, we lost a full sixty feet of our available
area but we only learned that the day before, so good job! Also, next time
the area will be swept.
Turns out we could have come and done setup the night before (had we known)
so keep that in mind for the future. Also, the probability of camping at the
site is still apparently open. We will see. I will be sending around a note
to the SC re some of the things that needed to go on behind the scenes
because of the airport, karts, etc. that increased our administrative burden
unnecesarily, but again, thanks to Mathew and all for a typical SFR flawless
regonal.
