Hi guys,
Can anyone tell me where the rule is that drivers at national solo
events have to choose a number between 1 and 99 and 2nd drivers of 2
driver cars take that number plus 100? The old-school entry form it
says that first driver has to pick a number, and second has to take that
plus 100, but it doesn't say that the first driver's number has to be
between 1 and 99. The closest I could dig up (thanks Elbert) was the
supps for last year's Nationals in the May FasTrack where it says on
page F-109 "must run 99 or lower for first driver".
Is it in the supps? I couldn't find it in the rulebook.
For those of you who are running your first National Tour event, the
grid procedure is slightly different from how we do it locally. Drivers
are assigned grid spaces by number, and run in numerical order from low
to high. By definition the 2nd driver of the 99/199 car should run last
in his/her class. I had a look at the entry list and there are a few
people signed up with numbers over 199, and I believe you'll eventually
have to change them. I just can't find the rule in writing that says
you do:)
