Might be worth trying.
Only guidelines I've heard of for storing tires are to keep them away from heat
and light. Keeping them in a cool garage in regular trash bags should be okay
for this too. Also heard it is not a good idea to store them in a garage where
you have a large air compressor running, as large electric motors generate
ozone which is BAD for tires. Perhaps your airtight idea would be better in
that regard.

Now that it's off season I (probably a few others) will need to store
the R tires. Has anyone tried using the "Space Bag" (The bags you see on
as seen on TV, the ones you use a vacuum to suck the air out) to store
the wheels and tires?
I was thinking about trying this. Use the space bag to suck all the air
or as mush as I can then wrap them up in garbage bags for the winter
until next season. The bags are pretty big (at least the jumbo one
anyways, 36"x52").
