That's the little burg's name. The facility is known as the Jackson County
Sports Park. It has a quarter mile dirt oval, the combo autocross/go-kart
track, a drag strip, and a rifle range. The proposed road course has never
been built. Some 25 years ago when I was last there a guy with a pickup,
(what else?) laid out the blue prints on the truck's hood to show what was
going to happen next. It didn't happen. The Jackson County people even
hired a publicist away from Sears Point to make a deal on their effort. He
quit when he realized the road course wasn't going to happen.
The Siskiyou Sports Car Club stages autocross events, including a
season-ending enduro, at the park.
