Hi-
For those of you who aren't on the National list, here's a note from Howard
Duncan...

Solo Field Staff,
Anything any of you could do to spread the word that the next 30-45 days are
going to be a tremendous challenge for the National Office Solo Dept would be
of great help.
The National Office will be relocating to Topeka from Englewood/Centennial on
November 15, with the Topeka office scheduled to open on Monday, Nov 18. The
Rally and Solo departments have already started part of the process when we
had to vacate our office in the current building so that it could be leased
by Oct 1. We are currently shoe horned in with Pro Racing on a temporary
basis while awaiting the Topeka move.
Prior to that actual move there is a lot of sorting, tossing, and packing. In
addition, we are a bit short staffed for a variety of reasons. Some employees
are not making the move to Topeka (Deselle and Ethan) and they need to take
time for job hunting. New employees will not all be in place until the move
is complete. Those of us that are going need to finalize our living
arrangements (House/apt hunting, closings, packing, moving, etc.) which may
have us out of the office at times over the next 30 days.
In addition to these topics, this time of the year is normally one of the
busiest for us with SCCA Divisional Conventions, trade shows (SEMA, PRI,
etc.), end of the year Board of Director reports, and 2003 rule book
preparations.
As an example, Tasha will only be in the office a grand total of six days
between now the move, and I will only be in a few more days than that.
The end result is that trying to meet member expectations during the next
30-45 days will be a bit difficult. The Solo Community could be very helpful
during this process if they could keep their requests/inquiries to those that
are time sensitive and also to be understanding if we are not able to get
back to them as quickly as we would like. Things should be back to "normal",
more or less, by the first of December.
Any assistance in getting this word out would be appreciated. Feel free to
post this wherever it might help in that regard.
Thanks.
H.
