Today's event at Golden Gate Fields came off very well. While our
attendance was down a bit, probably in the 200 range, it was a beautiful
day with shirtsleeve weather in the 70s by the Bay.
Arnold Escano presented his version of the 2002 Nationals South
course. The original was laid out by B Mod driver Bill Gendron of New
England Region. But Escano's execution at GGF was far better; you could
actually SEE where the course went. Hooray.
Thank you Arnold.
Reminds of some wag's comment that the VW Beetle was a poor concept
Brilliantly executed but the Citroen DSR (the hydraulic up and down one;
the first Low Rider you could play hop scotch with) was a great concept
poorly executed.
