SONOMA, Calif. - The crew from "Bay Area Backroads," the ever-popular
television show that airs weekly on KRON-TV (San Francisco) visited Infineon
Raceway Wednesday and Thursday (Sept. 11-12) to film a segment for an upcoming
show.
Host Doug McConnell spent a full day at the track taping segments at the
Infineon Raceway Karting Center, as well as on the drag strip during the
"Wednesday Night Drags" program. McConnell tried his luck against Santa Rosa
police officer Alan Schellerup and came up on the short end in three races. The
segment will also take a look at the recently completed $50 million
Modernization Plan.
The segment will air some time in November. "Bay Area Backroads" has been a
staple on KRON-TV for 17 years.
