That's odd. My brief experience with the Azenis was very positive in the
wet (and dry). They belonged to a friend of mine on his truly stock 87 MR2.
My first time out on them was at a rainy autocross in February. I ended up
setting the fastest time of the day by ~2.5 seconds, and 4 out of 5 of my
times were FTDs. So they can't be that bad. :) There was plenty of standing
water on course to splash through.
FWIW the tires were 195/60/14. I love 'em. If I didn't have dedicated race
tires now, which makes me willing to give up a bit of grip on the street for
some longevity, I'd be getting a set of 205/50/15 Azenis for street and
autox duty. Best darn street tire I've driven.
