One thing to note about ADDS Wheel Warehouse is that for all practical
purposes, they're not open on Friday. The Tire Rack web site shows that
they're open M-F 9-5, but Barry seems to reserve Fridays for car
dealership work he does. This type of work is likely the largest source
of revenue for the business, so you can understand why they do this.
This probably isn't a problem for most, but for some reason the last two
times I've drop shipped from Tire Rack to ADDS, the tires managed to not
get there until Friday :-(. They're also open on Saturdays, but only
for half a day, and seem to take off Saturdays once in a while (such as
this weekend). So I wouldn't count on Saturday either.
So basically, there's a four to four and 1/2 day at best window in which
you can have your tires installed at ADDS. Since Tire Rack reserves a
two day window from the time you order your tires to the time which your
tires are shipped, even with their fastest two day shipping, it makes
hitting ADDS' M-Th four day window more difficult than it might appear.
So if you're in a hurry to get your tires on (I'm on a donut tire right
now, so I'm in a hurry :-), ADDS may not be the way to go unless you can
get your tires to arrive M-Th. Best bet is to order from TR on W-F I
guess, so they get there (hopefully) M-Th.
I'm going to try out Used Tire Warehouse in Santa Clara this time. A
few people have said good things about this place on other lists. Any
other opinions ?
