Catastrophic failure, no warning at all, and no substantial pull on the
steering wheel as it failed either. Just a loud "clunk" and then it was
only rear brakes, ebrake, and down shifting to keep out of the tire wall.
If it had happened at turn 8 things would have turned out quite different.
