That's the situation I live for on the streets! One time, though, I hit it
just like that, but I was late for our first prenatal appointment (I was
meeting my wife at the hospital) and the left turn was at the crest of a
hill (utter excuse...). Well, I took a second "penalty" let's say, by
turning in too early (or not carrying as much speed as I should have).
Result? I bent the left two wheels and drove on a flat for about a half a
mile to the hospital! :^)
If only I had a set of 33" all terrain tires on at the time, I would have
hardly noticed that median!

Okay, how, in your normal daily driving habits, do you scare the bejezers
out of your passengers?
For me, it's usually seeing the light at my left turn a block away turn
green, mashing the throttle, actually USING the brakes and then briskly
sweeping a clean line through the intersection. Not really over the speed
limit by much and only briefly, no tire squealing, not even close to ABS
lockup on the deceleration or traction limits when cornering, but the
combination of that maneuver has made some co-workers swear to never ever
ride with me again. ;-)
