Cool looking? Yes. Authentic/retro looking? Yes. Would I buy one/
do I care that they're going to make it? No.
$100k buys you a hotrodded Mustang motor in a slick chassis? Give me
the Elise (with a decent motor, like the Type R or RSX), or a Boxster
S or something like that instead. Awesome cars, refined yet racey, and
at or below the 50k mark. Affordable on a dot-com salary, or as your
dream car and performance to match.
I do think it's cool that manufacturers are seeing a performance market
and delivering low cost cars that are fun to drive (like our new Mazda
Protege 5, and my moms WRX)... but something like this is only neat for
the coolness factor, not because it's a good car or good deal.
