RE: AutoX School -- street tires vs. race tires

My own experience:

A co-driver and I did the Evolution School at Mather. The tires were destroyed
by lunch, which is what I was expecting, and even wanted, since I didn't want
to do that to my street tires. Still, it was uncomfortable after that.

3-Com is more forgiving, though, to tires. I still would stick to street tires.
If you can drive fast on street tires, you can drive fast on anything.

Something with a stiffer sidewall would be nice, I'd just make sure you have
enough tread to last the day. Race tires with very little tread left will tend
to "skate" at 3Com, somewhat similar to GGF. Do whatever is comfortable with
your budget, as the last thing you want is to be worrying about tire wear when
you are supposed to be having a good time learning.
