Well, I can't pick anybody. There's just too much talent. But here are some
names not mentioned, that you should probably pay some close attention to:
In CS, watch out for Evolution instructor Glen Hernandez and the entire
Washington contingent. Most of those guys have trophied at Nationals and
have a lot of experience behind them.
FS has John Lawrence who's had some flashy showings in some not so flashy
cars. Even Malibu Mike has toted Lawrence's prowess behind the wheel.
Definately someone to watch.
GS has THE race of the year, with Derek Butts in his luxury Lexus versus the
ever-dominant Kevin McCormick in his Type R. Butts has been screaming fast
in his Lexus, often times turning in times faster than McCormick, but I have
yet to see them run in the same run group. Have you? They're going to chew
eachother up into tiny smithereens, which is why I'm placing my bet on that
young upstart Sean O'Boyle.
GSL has the famous Katie Elder. Well, she's really, really tough, no doubt
about that. I'm pretty sure she'll pull it off, but watch Erin O'Boyle
anyway. She's young, she's talented, and she comes with an interesting
"navigator," but I don't know if they'll let him get through tech. You'll
just have to pay attention to know what I'm talking about. Let me just say
this: one day, at a post autox pizza dinner, a bunch of us were sitting
around trying to figure out a good story line for an autox movie. Our end
story line included a little bit of marshal arts, good versus bad, and a
vision quest. Anyway, Erin just stared at ME like _I_ was a freak! And then,
I met her "navigator." That's all I'm going to say.
Watch Scott Fraser driving Vic Sias' 240Z in BSP. Will he win? Who cares.
He's one of the smoothest, most precise drivers I've watched in awhile. This
is the only Z in this all Corvette field.
And how can anyone NOT mention Elise Geiger in BSPL? Here's another natural
born talent. How does Vic find these people?
Rick Gould's a good pick in CSP, but Tom Ellam in his Mazda RX-3 is your
best bet. And look who's in CSPL! It's Pilar Miranda!
No one's mentioned Casey Cronin in ESP. He's calm, cool, and collected, and
a good one to watch.
ESPL, I cannot pick. No way. Jeannine Breeze or Brianne Mitchell. It will be
close. That's all I know.
EP has some big names, some of which you might not recognize. Pay close
attention to former National Champ Thomas Anker, and Mike Sutton in his
Capri. Neither have been around for awhile, but both were, at one point
national caliber drivers.
Junior Karts: All these kids are fast in their own way. How could anyone
really pick?
Well, anyway, those are just some other names worth mentioning. And Scot,
your SM pick was just ALL WRONG!
