If you're not going to SFR's Divisional on June 23-24, SFR-SCCA is looking
for members to staff the "booth" at the Sears Point NASCAR show Thurs. June
21 thru Sun. June 24. The biggest need is on Thurs. and Friday. Sat.
is busy also but usually requires getting to the track a little
earlier and either leaving earlier or later. Sunday, help is needed
also but this requires getting to the place EARLY. During the Race
itself things are fairly quiet but one must either leave in mid race
or real late in the afternoon to avoid race and weekend traffic.
Most SCCA workers stay to partake in the usual SCCA "social" i.e.
free beer, wine and food, after the checker flag, although this is
not necessary. The worker and their guest are admitted free. They
will need to register, like everybody, and will have to park in
designated worker parking which is probably going to be up on the
hill but much closer than the spectators. The booth is typically
located down in the food concession area immediately adjacent to the
"old" inner pit where all the car-carrier rigs parked.
As you recall, the solo II people really carried a major piece of the
effort at the Mosconi operation. This event will be a lot more
exciting, noisy, and fast. With enough people everybody will get a
chance to see most of it and at a great price. Replies can be sent to Don
