Hi all,
Thanks to everyone who came out to Round 5 yesterday. The weather turned
out to be perfect after all, and we had an easily manageable 200 cars or so.
Like most of you I wish we had time for fun runs at the end, but some 3
driver car confusion and timer problems held us up in the last two groups.
Otherwise, the event ran very smoothly. Mark Watson designed a brilliant
course and took care of most everything, making it all seem just a bit to
easy for me:) I would also like to thank the many people who really went
the extra mile and helped to make it a great first experience for me. The
credit list is long, but briefly:
-Sherry Grantz did the work of a third event chair- drove the motorhome for
the first time, worked trailer all day long, helped out with worker
checkoffs and served as safety steward at least twice.
-Elbert Chin, who helped send out the setup worker call while I was still in
San Diego and pitched in big time when things were starting to get hectic in
the afternoon
-The whole morning setup crew, including Boris Elpiner and the O'Boyles who
helped out with timer setup and configuring a safe and visible finish.
-Dave Rowney, Karl Glynn, and all others who stayed to help clean up.
-Everyone who helped tech, the registration crew, Charlie for making the
course safe and car-friendly, and everyone else I didn't mention!
