Mir is going to die because Russia can't afford the reported $200 million a year it takes to keep it going. Compare that to the $285 million Ferrari is allegedly spending on Formula 1 this year, or McLaren's $275 million. Hmmm... for your hard-earned $200 million dollars, you can either have a slightly rickety space station, or a mid-pack F1 team.
