I could not find the Panoz Roadster in the car category lists.
Does that mean it goes into super stock? I would guess it does,
since the rules say that any car not listed goes into super
stock, except for a short list of cars like the 911 Turbo AWD,
and the Panoz is not on that short list. And would replacing the
differential put it into a different category? I'm considering
replacing the differential with a Zexel Torsen using the same
stock gear ratio of 3.27:1, just to get better reliability and
power transfer. The guys at Panoz said this would help with
autocrossing.
It uses a Ford Mustang Cobra drivetrain. I'd appreciate any
advice from Cobra drivers who might have tried the Torsen
differential. I found one source for the differential, Saleen
Performance down in Irvine. But is there a more local place I
could get the differential?
Finally, is it really true that the G-Force tires are the only
comp tires available in 295x35x18 and 245x40x18? I checked on
tire rack and couldn't find Kuhmos in that size. If so I might
use the street tires for a year or so until I can get Kuhmos in
this size.
I haven't replaced the differential yet, so the car is still in
stock form on street tires.
Thanks,
