Sure you post notification to ba-autox, and I appreciate that immensely.
Last year it seemed like notification to ba-autox was sporadic at best, so
it's been very nice to have timely notifications this season.

Please Jerry, It's not at all question of trust, see below "the point".

Well, the capability is there, and I'm certainly not the first one to think
of it. You can have Internet Explorer tell you when a web page has been
changed, and it does this by downloading the HTML file every yay often and
comparing it with a stored copy.

> Question: What's the point?

The point, which was lost way back in my first email, is to have the bot
email my PAGER and tell me the results are online. I'm not in front of my
computer all the time, so I will miss for hours or some times a day or two
your results announcement on ba-autox.

Other ways to get that data into a pager?

Subscribing to the ba-autox list with my pager email address is bad, because
the flood of emails would be totally unmanageable.

Trying to filter my incoming ba-autox traffic to find the announcement email
from you and redirect it to my pager would be a tricky proposition at best.

Asking you to add me to a larger email notification list than just ba-autox
also seems unreasonable, I would guess that you already have enough to worry
about just getting things posted online, which is why I'm trying to design
this thing to be transparent to you.

I'm really not clear how what I'm doing will force a change in your
operating procedure.

Phil: Let me try to answer your question here (if it hasn't been already by
the above) to try and cut down the email storm on the list.

Well...yes....but that would A: Defeat the purpose of getting a results
notification message into my pager (and anybody else's pager who wants this
kind of data). And B: Be quite redundant, Jerry already posts to the
ba-autox list, and he knows when the results are online and ready to be
published, so there's no way a bot could be faster, more efficient, or more
accurate than how Jerry does it right now.
