Gosh, Let's stop being foolish with semantics - the course design violated
the rule. Cornering speeds were faster than 45 mph. The course was
therefore
illegal and protestable.
But how rare is this? And what is a corner exactly? Well it would not be
any 65 MPH straight where the wheel is not at 12 noon = insignificant
accompanying cornering. One view is that it is when you are at the edge of
the
friction circle, max lateral for some period. In that case my logger shows
well
over 60 MPH all out cornering at the limit of the car for Toledo last year for
example. Nearly 20 MPH over the limit? Elise in SS. (And Junior was way
faster than these logs).
