Not really, no.
National seems just as committed to Solo2 as ever. _ProSolo_ may well be
on its last legs (despite official statements... Its hard to look at the
last couple years and particularly this year as being positive moves for
the series), but I've not seen anything that indicated solo2 was something
the SCCA didn't want to do.
I think it just makes sense to have Solo 1 under the club racing banner,
as well as to open that program up to the HPDE style events. Certainly as
a regional solo chair, it makes about 100% more sense to have our local
club racing folks take the lead in solo1 events... They're the ones with
experience with the track stuff, not our solo2 folks.
I think this reorg just reflects what skills are necessary to do track
events and where those skills lie vs. any desire on the part of the SCCA
to eventually drop solo2.
