Valid point -- in this case, it wasn't an assumption, but from the test
results. That also comes with extra baggage, though: the test car was a
Neon, on smooth asphalt surface, warm day. I agree with you and Rick --
change any of those, and the results change. I think car weight and
suspension characteristics -- primarily alignment changes under load --
would have some very significant effects, which would explain much of the
variability Rick mentions.
On the other hand, I'll need an excuse when I get waxed at the D.C. Tour
this weekend, so Hoosiers *have* to be faster.... :)
