On the uplink side of life, there was a slight increase of audio,
but it was more the straight dialog to "wall of sound" and that
was before the video/audio switcher. At Group W, we were pretty
good about consistency of video and audio levels of any spot we
dubbed. I dubbed quite a few for Speedvison and
A&E/History/Biography/Discovery/TLC. Sitting in Master Control
(MC), we didn't have much control, but we could monitor audio
levels going out (to the "bird"). And by and large, they were
very consistent. Especially, four years ago. :^) I would still
look to the local spots (avails) and see (hear) if that is where
you biggest discrepancies are. "Discrepancy" is a big term in
broadcasting. The "feeds" to your cable co. or Dish/DirecTV are
no different, so the only real change is the local or inserted
spots (read: Dish/DirecTV). BTW, your hearing hasn't changed.

You folks knew I wouldn't ignore this post. :^)
