Terry Bassett and Roger (O) Johnson chaired the Put in Bay autocrosses
in the 1981-1984 time frame. It was always run at the end of tourist
season - the first weekend in October.

Many lunimaries and National Champs from CenDiv raced there. Dave and
Joyce Looman, Roger J, Terry B, Bill & Linda Smiley, Hank Beachy, Mark
McGowan, Joe and Cindy Darwal, Jerry Kieft (of Chimney Rock fame), Rik
Davis, Gordon McIndoe, Mary Raden (McIndoe), Graden Obenour, Marlene
Schoenberger (Obenour), Alan Scheidler, Wendell Karr-Ake, Bruce Domeck,
Dennis Bay. All announced by Lloyd Loring.

I remember racing with a hangover after the infamous Pub Crawl. Music
at the Roundhouse Bar was courtesy of Ben Dover and the Screamers (Radar
Love was the crowd favorite). It was fun, but the course was tight. If
you hit a curb, you did not stop in the paddock, you drove straight to
the ferry to go home. I co-drove with Tom Nesbitt in his '72 BS
Corvette. I never had a clean run.

There was a 20 year reunion in 2001 organized by Ellen Honsperger and
Roger Johnson. Lots of folks had fun. Great to see Terry Bassett.
