Thanks for everyone who has made a donation!
We have collected $2,508.82 for distribution to members of the San Diego
Solo 2 community who lost their homes in the recent fires. So far, we
have identified two racing familes who lost their homes entirely. While
several others suffered some damage, Randy and I decided to limit the
beneficiaries to those who lost everything. $800 has been distributed,
and I will be making another partial distribution today.
We will be keeping the account open for a while yet, so you can still
make a donation through either Paypal (donate@sdsolo.com; plastic

Any amount is good; as they say, its the thought that counts.
One thing for all you homeowners out there- take a good look at your
insurance policies. Unless it specifically says guaranteed replacement
cost, you may not be sufficient covered. Many of those who lost homes
had extended replacment cost, which sounds good but left them
significantly underinsured.
