I've been working on my classification scheme that pits driver against
driver rather than car against car. I've used the current PAX percentages
to "fine-tune" the classes. Rather than move up a class with wins during
the year, if a driver dominates his class the club adds a penalty weight for
each win. I'm thinking old bowling balls. Put one in the passenger
floorboard for each win. Have the regions buy them at the local pawn shops
and keep them at the start line. Load them up just before a run, so you
won't get the "light " balls every time. Mod cars could tow them in a sack
chained to the rear wing. You could add the ball total to the car lettering.
I drive a BMW 325is in DSP and have won a modest number of events, so my car
currently would be classed as C3r(d)t8+4(bb). I am in first place
nationally in that class. What class are you in? Are you winning?
