Now I am a newbie that has been watching this sport for a number of years and
has finally been able to muster the resources to compete. I have a few
observations
We drive around cones in a parking lot for god sakes. When you start to moan
and groan about classes etc., please remember that we are driving around cones
in a parking lot. No matter how you class things they are going to be
inherintly unfair. I can't seem to figure how cars are classed anyway. Seems
to be a combination of politics and seat of the pants think so's. No matter,
It is a hell of a lot of fun.
Money is an issue in any hobby, the tire thing is hard for a newbie (me) to
justify to the wife. However how in the heck would you define "street tire"
other than the way it is defined? It seems that no matter how you describe it
someone is going to find a way to make faster tires that cost more.
I see the same type of division in our own local chapter. We have the people
that are just happy to be there and are glad to find like minded people, and
the people that want some sort of exclusive club.
