Jack Burns designed in a lot of slalom/offset/lane change type moves
with a hang-on-to-your-hat finish on Sat. The site is 1 yr old smooth
concrete that still has a layer of dust on it. Lots of spins 1st and 2nd
heats Sat morning until the line got cleaned up. Then it was death for
anyone who went too wide and got caught in the marbles. 4th heat got a
rain shower right at the end spoiling some 2nd driver runs (Paul Kozlak
comes to mind). 5th heat had a wet 1st run, drying 2nd and dry 3rd. A
few folks got caught out by the scales in impound. Look for a rule
clarification regarding female weights in F125 next year. :)
Broke a sway bar mount during Friday practice and had to run to a
muffler shop to weld it up. Got everything bolted back together with a
quick alignment (thanks Tracey and Lloyd) by Friday night and it held
together all weekend. Thanks to Mike Johnson and company for the
announcing levity and to all the Ohio folks for putting on a great event.
