Oh and in answer to this other (besides you needing to find out behind the
scenes before you think I don't understand it all and understand why Evo
needed to make it's stand of where we are thanks to Steve Johnsons' memo and
my private one from them) we already have driving schools out there we are in
compeition with, have been for years. If someone came along Mark, offering
you more money to sponsor your series, you'd be stupid not to take it. If we
could stil help out and be advertised for also by the same amount of cash I
give every year, cool. good for us, but if you only wanted one school, one
sponsor and we don't make $$ like that other school then you have to make
what is best for you. Or what you want to do. Or if you want to let both be
sponsors somehow. In fact-this just happened! let me share this, as it
doesn't upset me the least. We have been doing the c5 bash for the Cro0vette
Museum for 2 years now with the autocross school. Well, we have been outsted
to some school called Justin Bell! and he is giving a few of his thousand
dollar schools for prizes and offering his version of an autocross school/or
whatever he offers. Am I mad at him, Justin Bell's school, for that? No.
that's stupid. Am I mad at the museum? No, it's busienss for them. I do
know they will be getting people who wil say why didn't you have that school
you had last year? It was much better! <gg> Why, because what I have is
good. And we got plenty of corvette drivers who are planning to come to
Evolution sometime in 2003, plus a couple clubs that will be bringing us to
their region.
Again, your insinuation that the P.R.O. series is trying to steal anyone and
making it seem like SCCA feels that way is really putting words and visions
that really doesn't need being presented that way. I also know Steve tried
to meet with Steven Johnson about this idea and what they could do, and maybe
you should find out what happened on that. Jim mcKamey and I met with Howard
and Doug Reed back in 96 I think it was to see what we could do to help them.
And then when I took over Jim's half of this school, was asked to give SCCA
some ideas on what we could do for them, and have, I also have tried to talk
with them about ideas, but have never got to do that.
P.R. O. has done nothing to get people thinking about any think other than
what other open weekends they might have to go racing.
Gee, I've never had to defend Evo's helping and support of any club before
and we have sponsored and helped out many of them. and I am frustrated that
for some reason some how we have had do make our clarification of what we do
and who with.
