"National Championship Class." Mark, you may well have the nut of the issue
there.

BTW, couldn't an argument be made that a "national" class is any class for
which the SEB has codified a single set of prep rules within the Solo II
rulebook? Everything else would be a "regional" class for which the rules
exist only on a local level (and may vary from locality to locality). Street
Tire classes, Novice classes, PAX classes, etc. And then, as you mention,
being a "national" class does not mean being a "championship" class -- which
would be classes fully subscribed (whatever it is determined that means) at
Nationals. Most classes would be championship classes going in, and could
not lose that status at that event (but could for the next year's). Some
might be supplemental going in, and scheduled as part of another class, but
would gain immediate championship status if it makes the numbers. Doing so
would not necessarily mean it would retain it the following year, however,
if it is still considered in a new or developmental state.

"Please feel free to suggest solutions to the SEB." Actually, I'm beginning
to generate some, which will likely come to fruition sometime next week.
