In general, if one's internet access includes web capability, one can peruse
list postings by going to the archive site listed below. Alternatively, the
majordomo program has the 'index' and 'get' commands available, which are a bit
more troublesome to use. You send mail to majordomo@autox.team.net with the
command
index autox
and you get a message back that lists the archive files available, e.g.
>>>> index autox
1970513 May 31 2000 autox.archive.200005
4522950 Jun 30 2000 autox.archive.200006
4063809 Jul 31 2000 autox.archive.200007
2810943 Aug 31 2000 autox.archive.200008
3569316 Sep 30 2000 autox.archive.200009
blah blah blah
The first column is the size, in bytes, of the file. So if your mail system
can't deal with 3,4 or 5 megabyte files, you are hosed. If you can handle
such things, then you can send more commands to majordomo like
get autox autox.archive.200109
get autox autox.archive.200209
This will get the archives for September, 2001 and 2002 mailed back to you.
The file name is the last bit of the index command, the date the file was
written is the stuff in the middle. It should be somewhat obvious from the
listing.
RealSoonNow I'll have more complete archives for this list online, yep,
any day now, trust me, honest!
