I hope this reads OK, I had a little trouble getting it formatted...

: If you read it without thinking about it too much, yes it's correct.
Let me

Thinking too much just makes me want another beer :-)

: just clarify further by saying, how it works will be this...

: Cars will go out in numerical order...if you hold onto this fact first
and
 : foremost you will understand.

OK, I can handle that but the example I presented is in numerical order,
there are just 3 series of numbers in order. And really it strikes me as a
good solution to the the 2 driver problem (At least for classes that are
large enough to have enough cars to make up 5 minutes worth of runs between
the first and second drivers).

: So...in any given class, the cars go out by numerical order, cars that
fall
: into the two driver category will be sent in numerical order, the only
: variation on this theme occurs when the 2nd driver of a 2 driver team's
turn
: in numerical order is less than 5 minutes from when the first driver ran.
At
: this point the grid staff will wait for 5 minutes to elapse before
sending
: the 2nd driver. If it has been less than 5 minutes from the first
driver's
: run, the grid staff will move down the line, and come back when the 5
minutes
 : has elapsed.

: So, the _key_ thing to remember is that cars will run in numerical
order,(as
: much as possible, reruns, and not enough time between runs will change
the
: order slightly), first drivers of 2 car teams will _not_ go out before
all
 : other drivers.

: Hope that clarifies things. ( I spoke with the Nats Staff before posting

 : this)

Not really because your clarification doesn't match up with what was
written. Let me break it down as I see/read it and maybe someone can tell
me where I am misinterpreting it.

That's why I asked. It's not clear to me.

: 6. Cars will run in numerical order by class (except as necessary and
directed by the Grid Chief to facilitate efficient event operation) within
each heat until all cars have made a run, then the second run will begin.

OK, clear enough we go in order until we are done. But,

: For cars with two drivers, the first drivers of all two driver teams in
each segment will run in numerical order, as directed by the grid marshal.

This indicates to me that the 2 driver cars will have the first driver run
first in their numerical order and then. Which would be:

15 Bob Jordan 89 Zink Z22 F500 Red Hoosier New England

33 Edward Kramar 89 Red Devil F440 Blue/Ye Hoosier Texas

34 Chris Eckles 86 KBS MK3 Red/Grey Goodyear Atlanta

75 John T. MacDonald 75 Caldwell D13 Flamed Fl Hoosier NEng

98 Eddie Hernandez 94 Red Devil F500 Purple/ Hoosier Texas

: They will be followed by the drivers without co-drivers running in grid
order.

The rest of the cars with one driver will run. which would be:

14 Jeff Blumenthal 95 KBS MK 7 Red Hoosier NeOh

24 Ron Madurski 88 Red Devil F440 Blue Hoosier SWVR

28 Bob Qualkinbush 90 Adams Aero Formula Vee Hoosier KC

36 Bruce Schlaebitz 87 Red Devil Blue Goodyear Big Sky

40 Steven Rosenberg 88 Raptor F500 Aqua/Prple Hoosier Phil

43 Chuck Buysse 76 Solo Vee Caldwell Blac Hoosier SBnd

62 Stuart Phipps 89 KBS Mark IV Really Gre Hoosier Cinn

71 Charles Cave Arizona

74 Mike Quinn 94 KBS MK 7 Red Hoosier NW Ohio

77 Johnny Billingsley 71 Zink C4 Green Hoosier Cinc

89 Rick Clark 83 KBS MK 4 Red Hoosier Tex

94 Ricardo Gonzales 68 Solo Vee Zink Red Hoosier Chi

95 John Whitling 92 Red Devil F 500 White Hoosier Cinn

97 Todd Allen 86 Zink Z-19 Orange/Yello Hoosier NEOHIO

99 Chuck Voboril 86 Zink Z19 X yellow Hoosier Ariz

Then,

: They will proceed to the start line at the direction of the grid marshal.

The second driver of the cars with 2 drivers will run. Which would be:

115 Tony Bettencourt 89 Zink Z22 Red Hoosier New England

133 Gary Kramar 89 Red Devil F440 Blue/Ye Hoosier Texas

134 Clint McMahan 84 KBS MK 3 Red/Grey Goodyear MGa

175 Mary Glavan 79 Caldwell Flaming Flam Hoosier NER

198 John Engstrom 94 Red Devil F440 Purple/ Hoosier Tex

Which is different than I ever remember it being done anywhere, but is how I
am interpreting the verbiage as presented. It really makes sense to do it
that way too if you think about it. Like John and Eddie. If they were to
just go in order there would only be 5 cars between their runs (99,
115,133, 134, 175) , doing it this way there are about 20 cars between runs
and the 5 minute rule will be easy to meet and driver changes will go
smoothly and the grid marshall should have fewer problems. It's different
than it has ever been done before so there will be some resistance and
confusion, but I think it works out better.
