The biggest thing I have heard about is the ECU's keep track of the
number of time you hit the rev limiter and they can use that for a cause
to reject a warranty claim on an engine failure
Others?

Subject: Warranty Voided?
Hi, I'm a newcomer to the auto-x list so I hope this isn't an old
question. I did check various FAQs that google turned up.
I have a new Mini Cooper S that I'd like to enter in autocrosses. The
warranty says that the manufacturer can void the warranty if the car is
entered in "a competitive event". Has anyone with a newer car ever seen
this happen or am I worried about nothing? This is the first time I've
ever owned a British car with a warranty :-)
