Thanks for the tips and suggestions all - i'll call tire rack again on
monday - i've always had excellent service with them in the past, and will
certainly continue to use them in the future - it was just a concern. I
mount/balance the tires myself, so even if i get them next friday its not an
issue.

I had the same thing happen last month from them, and I have had others have
it happen with other companies.
Some of the credit card verification services are too finicky when it comes
to the address and something like BLVD. and Boulevard are not considered the
same thing. Unfortunately for security reasons the verification bureau will
only say good or bad, so Tire Rack can't just say try Boulevard.
In my case I called Tire Rack and verified the address to what was on my
bank statement and the tires were shipped immediately.
It is only Tire Racks fault for using a service bureau with crummy software.
Get your credit card statement out and call Tire rack and make sure the
billing address they have is exactly the same as the the bank statement to
the letter, caps and punctuation even! You might even ask them what service
bureau/software they are using for verification so you can complain to your
credit card company about it.
