Alan, Per, and list

I disagree entirely. I was an entrant - - until my heart attack and other
family medical problems slowed the build to the point the car was not ready in
time.

I had purchased a Fiero that was already stripped, already had the graphics,
already had an aluminum racing seat, etc. for a good price. I then sold the
engine and tranny for enough to lower my costs for this car to almost nothing.
I purchased a 4.9 Cadillac engine from a wrecked car for a song, and also an
automatic transmission from a 4 cylinder Fiero (same bolt pattern as the
Caddy) for next to nothing because the owner thought the trans would be bad
just because the engine froze. This is an easy swap, fabricate and weld a
couple motor mounts, do some wiring,

I sent out a notice to some of the Fiero lists, and it's amazing what people
have stored in their garages they would be willing to sell cheap!! As an
example, I gave $20 to a gent that had a set of poly suspension bushings he
had bought and never used. He hasn't had a Fiero for 5 years - - and there are
many other stories behind the parts I acquired.

Please remember, labor doesn't count, just what $ you have spent on the car
and building it. Anyway, even with new tires, and a suspension almost as
exotic as the one I had under the Q4 Fiero - I would have had a NOS boosted V8
Fiero to take out to play at the Challenge for about $1900 cash investment.

I like to think that is the spirit of this challenge - and God willin' I'll be
there next year.

Hey, Per - - how about a Challenge for the West Coast, too? I would bet that
you could get as many more entries if held there, and then a "Super Challenge"
between the 2 winning cars (East Coast/West Coast)?
